Aaron Velli is a partner in the Cooley Godward Kronish Business department. He joined the Firm in 1999 and is resident in the Firm's Washington, DC office.Mr. Velli's practice encompasses the representation of emerging growth companies and investors in such companies in various corporate and securities transactions. As a member of the Firm's Venture Capital practice group, Mr. Velli maintains particular expertise in the formation and operation of private equity investment partnerships, including securities laws matters, partnership terms and relevant tax, accounting and other regulatory considerations. His experience includes venture capital financings, private and public securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and credit finance.Mr. Velli is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center where he teaches Venture Capital Finance. Mr. Velli has also lectured at George Mason Law School, University of Maryland Business School and Vanderbilt University Business School and is a regular speaker at private equity conferences.Prior to joining Cooley Godward Kronish, Mr. Velli was an associate in the Corporate/Securities group at Andrews & Kurth L.L.P. in Washington, D.C.Mr. Velli received a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 1993, where he served as a senior editor of the Journal of Contemporary Legal Issues and a B.A. from Brown University in 1990.Mr. Velli is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the State of Maryland and before the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. Mr. Velli is a member of the American Bar Association's Business Section and Chairs the Fund Formation subcommittee of its Venture Capital and Private Equity Committee. |
