As Vice president of Network Architecture & Engineering Ajay Joseph is responsible for the continued innovation of iBasis' Internet Telephony infrastructure The iBasis Network. Joseph brings to iBasis more than 10 years experience in hands-on network design. Joseph most recently served as an architect for IP Telecom division of GTE Internetworking. He played a key role in the design and deployment of both IP and PSTN infrastrucutre to enable services such as Fax over IP Unified Messaging over IP Voice over IP and Internet Call Waiting. Ajay was responsible for management technical leadership and staffing across five groups - encompassing IP-PSTN Signaling IP Network Engineering Traffic Management PSTN Planning Domestic/International and Systems Integration. Ajay also lead access architecture design efforts for GTE's next generation OC-192 network. While at GTE he was also an active participant in both the IETF and the ATM Forum.
Prior to GTE Joseph was a senior engineer with ATM testing vendor DeskNet Systems. He was also on the technical staff at NYNEX Science and Technology where he was a key architect in a multi-million deal with New York State for deploying Internet services. Joseph holds a Professional Engineer designation from the Department of Engineering and a Master of Science from the Department of Electrical Engineering all from Columbia University. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communications Engineering. |
