Al MacIsaac enters his seventh year as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks hockey operations department where he serves as General Manager of Hockey Operations for the Norfolk Admirals while also tending to pro scouting duties for the NHL club. He is in his 15th year with the Admirals organization
A native from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, MacIsaac was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1987. He attended St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scoria for four years, where he tallied 112 points (54 goals, 58 assists).
After college, he joined the Hamton Roads Admirals as a defenseman for the 1991-92 season and led the team with a +33 rating. He represented the Admirals in the 1993 ECHL All-Star game. During that same season, MacIsaac made appearances with the AHL's Baltimore Skipjacks and Cape Breton Oilers.
MacIsaac has captured four championships, three as a player; the CHL's Memorial Cup Champion Guelph Platers in 1987, the ECHL Champion Hampton Roads Admirals in 1992 and the Calder Cup Champion Cape Breton Oilers in 1993.
In 1994, MacIsaac joined the Admirals front office as the Assistant General Manager. He was named General Manager of Hockey Operations for the Admirals in July 1996. In 1997-98, the Admirals won their third ECHL Championship.
Al and his wife, Dawn, have three daughters, Madison, Delaney and Emersyn and reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia. |
