Lanny Ross has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1995 and also served on Broadcom's executive team as Chief Operating Officer (starting in November 2002 ) and as President and Chief Executive Officer (starting in January 2003 until the end of December 2004). Mr. Ross has more than 25 years of experience leading semiconductor companies through various stages of growth. Before joining Broadcom Mr. Ross served as the President of Rockwell International's Telecommunications Group. Under Mr. Ross's leadership Rockwell's semiconductor revenue grew from $140 million to more than $1 billion and Rockwell became the worldwide leader in voice-band modems. Before joining Rockwell Mr. Ross served as Vice President and General Manager of National Semiconductor's ASIC business and prior to that was Vice President and General Manager of Fairchild Semiconductor's ASIC Division. From 1978 to 1982 he was Vice President and General Manager of the Fairchild Semiconductor Test Systems division. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Semiconductor Industry Association in 1994 the premier trade association representing the U.S. microchip industry. Mr. Ross also served on the Board of Sematech as well as the Telecommunications Industry Association. Mr. Ross received a B.S. in Industrial Management from San Diego State University. |
