Mr. Enslen's practice is focused on civil litigation, international trade compliance, and governmental affairs. He defends brokerage firms against a variety of securities fraud claims asserted by customers. He also represents corporations in complex business litigation in state and federal court. Mr. Enslen has represented both U.S. and foreign companies on numerous export control matters before the U.S. Department of State�s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and the U.S. Department of Commerce�s Bureau of Industry and Security, as well as on economic sanctions compliance matters before the U.S. Department of the Treasury�s Office of Foreign Assets Control. Prior to returning to Maynard, Cooper & Gale in late 2003, Mr. Enslen practiced in Washington, DC in the International Trade Practice Group of King & Spalding LLP. Mr. Enslen also represents firm clients before the U.S. Congress and other departments and agencies of the Federal Government on matters involving international relations, including current initiatives focused on advancing political, economic, and human rights reforms in Central Asia. Prior To Maynard Cooper:Before attending law school, Alan served on active duty with the United States Army from 1986 to 1994, first as an Infantry officer in the 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, and then as a Special Forces officer in the 10th Special Forces Group in Germany. Since 1994, Alan has continued to serve as an Army Special Forces officer in the reserve component. He was recalled to active duty in 2001 and deployed for a year on Operation Enduring Freedom. |
