Alan has been with Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd., as a director since 1983. He specializes in serving owners of manufacturing and distribution companies, as well as other privately-held corporations, partnerships, and individuals. As one of the directors in charge of the firm's international tax and business consulting team, Alan's specialties include tax structuring, mergers and acquisitions, management advisory services, and estate and personal financial planning. He is also an originator of the firm's High Net Worth Advisory Service Department and Family Office Group.
Alan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and is an Accredited Personal Financial Planning Specialist through that organization. In addition, Alan is a member of the Illinois CPA Society, the Chicago Estate Planning Council, American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Alan serves as the chairperson of the Professional Advisory Council of the Jewish Federation, and is a member of the Legacy and Endowment committee. He has served as the chairman of the U.S. Tax Committee for the DFK International Accountancy Group, and has authored and contributed to numerous books and articles. Alan has served as co-editor of the Tax Clinic and Tax Advisor Magazine, and has taught at Kent College of Law - IIT, Lewis College of Law, and various ICPAS seminars. He has also been a keynote speaker at numerous trade associations on tax and personal financial counseling topics.
Alan graduated with high honors and distinction with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Illinois School of Law and has received many honors, including Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma, Who's Who in American Law, and Who's Who in Emerging Leaders in America. |
