Alan Force joined Kenyon & Kenyon in 2004 as a senior associate. Dr. Force has substantial experience in U.S. and foreign patent procurement for U.S. and foreign clients, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications, as well as experience in client counseling and opinion writing. His technical experience includes pharmaceuticals, combinatorial chemistry, pollution control systems, fuel cells, perfumes, medical techniques, polymers, golf balls and golf ball compositions, toys, computer printers, paper manufacturing, refractory materials, metal refining, printing blankets, vehicular air bag inflators, and pyrotechnic gas generating compositions and autoignition materials.
Dr. Force received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in Physical Chemistry in 1981 for his research in the production and deactivation of excited oxygen and its role in stratospheric ozone chemistry. His research involved a study of the reaction kinetics of the production of singlet oxygen atoms from the photolysis of ozone and their removal by atmospheric gases. Dr. Force also has eight years experience as a research chemist at the U.S. Army Chemical Research, Development, and Engineering Center at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, where he participated in the development of systems for the remote sensing of chemicals in the atmosphere, and ten years experience teaching of physics, chemistry, biology, and general science at the junior high, high school, and college levels.
