Albertus van den Bergh was named vice president, global customer solutions for Lilly March 2005. He previously served as president of neuroscience products since December 2000. He also is a member of the company's senior management council.
In 1976, van den Bergh received a bachelor's degree from Nijenrode University in the Netherlands and a master of business administration degree from Delft University in 1979.
He joined Lilly that year as a market research associate in Belgium. In 1981, he became marketing planning manager and in 1982 was named business unit manager in that Dutch affiliate. He went to Indonesia as country manager in 1983 and to Venezuela as general manager in 1986. In 1989, he became director of marketing studies at the company's headquarters in Indianapolis. In 1991, he became general manager of the company's German affiliate, based in Bad Homburg, and in 1995 was named general manager of Lilly's affiliate in Basingstoke, England. He was promoted to president of European operations in 1997. |
