His main areas of practice include general civil and commercial litigation, as well as maritime and collections in both state and federal courts.
Experience
Before joining McConnell Valdes LLC, he worked as a student law clerk to former Hon. Magistrate Aida M. Delgado Colon at the Federal District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Previously, Mr. Mercado worked as a student law clerk for Hon. Judge Daniel Dominguez from the Federal Court for the District of Puerto Rico. During law school, he served as an editor of the Law Review at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law and as an assistant to professor Luis Sanchez Caso.
Education
Mr. Mercado Martinez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Cum Laude, from Babson College at Wellesley Massachusetts in 2003. He obtained a Juris Doctor, Summa Cum Laude, from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law.

Mr. Mercado Martinez is admitted to the practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico and is a Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
