Mr. Smith is the Managing Director of Sepiawave, a communications technology company. At Sepiawave, he is responsible for market analysis, strategy development, and technology investment and development for the growing smart automotive and personal communications market sectors. Previously, as a founder and CEO of Rannoch Corporation, Mr. Smith helped forge a meaningful and significant role for the company in the global aviation flight tracking and airport management business. Mr. Smith pioneered the use, acceptance and necessity of real-time flight tracking and aircraft identification technologies for a variety of new and innovative market areas. Mr. Smith has an MSEE from Cranfield University, an MBA from the University of Westminster and over 25 years management experience in the air navigation services and airport information technology industries. An Associate Fellow of the AIAA, and a Professionally Registered Engineer, Mr. Smith has worked with major airports and air traffic services providers in North America, Europe and Asia, and has consulted to the U.S. DOT, FAA and NASA. Mr. Smith served on many international aviation standards organizations including the United Nation�s International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Civil Aviation Organization for Aviation Electronics, (EUROCAE) and the U.S. RTCA aviation standards organization. Prior to Rannoch, Mr. Smith worked for U.K. NATS on several air traffic systems programs, and Booz Allen and Hamilton, where he led the firm�s Aeronautical Technologies Practice. |
