Alex Kennedy is an associate in Jones Waldo�s Business Department. He has a broad range of experience in corporate and business law for both public and private companies, including SEC compliance (such as public and private offerings of equity and debt, on-going reporting and corporate governance), mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity, business formation and funding, structured finance, commercial contracts and general corporate matters. Prior to joining Jones Waldo, he was an associate in the Global Corporate Finance Department at the New York and London offices of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. Alex considers himself a Utahan, having completed most of his schooling here, though he has also lived in England, New York, Brazil, Idaho, Alaska, California and Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from the University of Utah in 1998 and his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University in 2001. While in Law School, he was an Associate Editor of the Journal of Public Law. He is admitted to practice law in Utah and New York and has been named among Utah Business Magazine�s Legal Elite in 2007 and 2008. His publications include the following: Dana Corporation v. When Alex is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Elizabeth, daughter Lucy, sons Henry and Thomas, and dog Moxie. Alex also enjoys fly-fishing, snow-skiing, water-skiing, hunting, reading, golfing, traveling, playing video games and watching movies. |
