Alexander K. "Sandy" Salmela possesses over twenty years of senior level recruiting experience. Prior to founding A.K.S. Associates, he was a Partner with Canny, Bowen, a New York based executive search firm with offices in London and Boston. For the period 1980 to 1990, he managed KPMG Peat Marwick's New England Search practice, and was a partner with the firm for the period 1985 to 1990. His previous experience includes establishing and managing the New England offices of Source Finance, a national recruiting firm, as well as positions with The Gillette Company, Price Waterhouse and State Street Bank & Trust Company. Mr. Salmela has conducted senior level searches in a broad cross-section of industries and functions over the last twenty years. His clients include firms in higher education, professional services, financial services, healthcare and public utilities industries. Areas of functional strength include finance, information technology, general management and sales and marketing. Mr. Salmela is a graduate of Bowdoin College and also holds an M.B.A. from Boston University. He is a certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a member in the Massachusetts Society of CPA's as well as the American Institute of CPA's.
