Alexandra Rhim practices in the areas of loan workouts, insolvencies, commercial lending, creditors' rights, commercial litigation, including defense of lender liability actions. Her practice encompasses the representation of financial institutions, purchasers, and other interested parties in insolvency proceedings. Ms. Rhim regularly represents financial institutions in the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of secured loan transactions and advises clients in connection with forbearance arrangements, debt restructuring, workouts, and foreclosures. Ms. Rhim also has significant experience in advising lenders regarding bankruptcy risks in loan originations and structured finance (securitization) transactions and frequently prepares true sale and bankruptcy substantive consolidation opinions. Ms. Rhim also practices in the United States Courts of Appeal and Bankruptcy Appellate Panels on issues involving complex commercial law and bankruptcy issues.
Ms. Rhim received her B.A. in Architecture in 1990 from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her J.D. in 1995 from Loyola Law School, where she was an Articles Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles International & Comparative Law Journal. Ms. Rhim served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Geraldine Mund, United States Bankruptcy Court Judge from 1995 to 1997. She is currently a member of the Financial Lawyers Conference and Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum. She is also a member of the Asian Business League of Southern California.
