Alexis Garcha is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Silicon Valley office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department and concentrates her practice on patent infringement litigation, focusing on semiconductors, computers (hardware and software), biotechnology and medical devices.
Prior to joining the Firm, Alexis practiced at a law firm in Northern California representing clients on patent infringement litigation in federal district courts, performing many aspects of litigation preparation and conducting legal research and drafting a wide variety of memoranda of law, motions and briefs. She also provided pre-litigation services including patent portfolio analysis, claim chart preparation and support for licensing negotiations involving evaluation of hundreds of patents, and assisted with transactional intellectual property matters including licensing, mergers and acquisitions, collaboration agreements and capital market transactions.
Alexis previously served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Claudia Wilken, U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California and was a patent law clerk. During law school, she received the Justice Wiley Manual Scholarship for Academic Achievement and Community Involvement and the Moot Court Award for Oral Advocacy. She was a member of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
She is a member of the California state bar, and admitted to practice in state and federal courts of California and The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
