Born in Spain in 1950, Alfredo Canal has a Degree in Computer Science; he also has an MBA from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid) and a Top Management Diploma by INSEAD (Fontainebleau).
His previous experience includes:
Dragados y Construcciones (1969-1984), the leading Spanish building company, where he was a Project Engineer and responsible for Software Development; Alcampo (1984-1985), the retail company, where he was Software Development Director; Software A.G. (1985-1997), German Software Vendor, where he was the Operations Director, C.E.O. for Spain and Portugal, Vice-president for Southern Europe and a member of the Board of Director.
In 1997, Alfredo Canal founded as chairman the company Nexus Information Tecnology, a Consulting Firm specialized in Internet and e-business, with 200 employes, profitable from the beginning and now the base of Icon Medialab Iberia.
In 1997, Alfredo Canal joined Ward Howell, an Executive Search Firm, as a partner and responsible for Technology and Telecom in Spain, developing many high levels searches for different companies, principally Microsoft and Amena (Telecom).
At present, and since 1999, Alfredo Canal is a partner of Boyden, the leading executive search firm, being managing director at the Madrid Office, responsible for Technology, Media and Communications industries and a member of the Technology Global Practice Group. His most important work was for the leading Spanish Communication Group (Grupo Correo de Comunicacion) with strong business in many newspapers, TV, Media and Internet, were he has developed many searches for CEO�S, CFO�S, and HHRR Managers.
