Ali Levin, a shareholder at Jones Waldo, is a member of the litigation department. Her practice focuses primarily on civil rights laws and wage and hour matters. She is the legislative affairs director on the Board of the Northern Utah Human Resource Association.
Ali's practice includes the representation of management in employment matters before state and federal courts, at trial and appellate level, as well as agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division and the National Labor Relations Board. She partners with employers in managing their businesses, including negotiating and drafting employment contracts, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, collective bargaining agreements and severance packages. She also provides in-house employment law training, investigations and drafts employee policies and handbooks.
Ali is a frequent speaker and contributor on employment law topics and Human resource management for numerous organizations, including the Utah State Bar, Lorman Education Services, the National Business Institute, the Cornell University Dairy Executive Program, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Sterling Education Services and the Society for Human Resource Management. She is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Guadalupe Schools. Ali was named as a Leader in Labor and Employment Law by Chambers USA 2005, 2006 and 2007 and as part of Utah�s Legal Elite in Utah Business Magazine, in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Ali was born in Boston, Massachusetts. She received a B.A. from the University of California Santa Cruz, with honors, in 1992, and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1997. She served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Hugh Bownes, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and worked for the Association of Civil Rights in Jerusalem, Israel. She is admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts, Colorado and Utah. |
