Alissa has spent the last 17 years advising CEOs and companies on marketing, public relations and business strategy. Alissa was previously Global Director of Public Relations at PeopleSoft, where she ran all public relations activities for the company while fending off a hostile takeover attempt by Oracle Corp. While at PeopleSoft Alissa oversaw all corporate, industries, and product public relations programs and managed a team of PR professionals around the world. Prior, Alissa was the founder of Zimbida, a public relations agency based in San Francisco, which had revenue of $1 million its first year and clients such as Network Solutions/VeriSign, the Asia Foundation, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She was also Director of Corporate Communications for Network Associates, now McAfee, a billion-dollar software manufacturer. Prior to Network Associates, she was part of the senior management team at Copithorne & Bellows, now Porter Novelli, where she was instrumental in building that firm's software practice from six employees in 1996 to over 35 in 2000. Her past experience includes: MCI, HP, VeriFone, Wells Fargo, Alta Vista, Oracle, McAfee, TIBCO, and others. Alissa also is a founding member of the San Francisco Media Arts Council, a media arts organization affiliated with the SFMOMA. She graduated with a Bachelor in Arts in Rhetoric and Communications and a minor in Art from the University of Oregon. |
