Dr. Allan Shulkin is a member of the Parkland Board of Managers. He also has a solo practice, specializing in pulmonary disease. Dr. Shulkin received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, and completed a residency and internship in medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He also completed a fellowship in pulmonary disease at UT-Southwestern Medical School.
Dr. Shulkin is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine with a sub-specialty in pulmonary disease and special qualifications in critical care medicine. He is founder and officer for Physicians for Patient Power, a fellow with the American College of Physicians, on the board of directors for the Dallas County Medical Society, and a member of the American Thoracic Society, Texas Medical Association, American College of Chest Physicians, and American Medical Association. He is a part of several honorary medical societies, including Phi Beta Sigma, Phi Alpha Theta, Phi Beta Kappa, and Alpha Omega Alpha.
He has been a member of the Zionist Organization of America, Anti-Defamation League Regional Board, Jewish Federation of Dallas Board of Directors, and chairman of special projects for the United Jewish Appeal Men's Young Leadership Cabinet.Dr. Shulkin lives and practices in Dallas. |
