As a founding director of Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd., Al has extensive experience serving personal service groups and other similar organizations, as well as privately-held corporations and individuals. Al's expertise also lies in real estate development, retirement planning, and setting up pension and profit-sharing plans. He is a specialist in tax planning and counseling, and has provided extensive structuring assistance to many clients. Prior to ORBA's founding in 1977, Al was a partner at Laventhol & Horwath, a national public accounting firm. He was also a partner with Miller Mandell & Company, which eventually merged with the national firm.
Al is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He serves on the ICPAS Committees on Education Standards and Human Resources, and is an officer of the University of Michigan Alumni Association (Local Chapter). Al has taught several accounting courses at DePaul University, and served as the discussion leader at various ICPAS seminars. He has also served as the Marketing Committee Chairman of DFK International Accountancy Group.
Al earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Michigan and graduated with distinction, magna cum laude. He then earned his M.B.A. with high distinction, summa cum laude also from the University of Michigan. |
