Allen V. Farber is a litigation and health care partner. Until 1978, Allen was a trial attorney with the District of Columbia Public Defender Service in its Mental Health Division at Saint Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, he represented respondents or defendants who, in most cases, were the subject of various mental health proceedings.
From 1978 to 1989, Allen was a litigator with a boutique firm in Washington, D.C., and from 1989 until 2000, was a principal in Green, Stewart, Farber & Anderson, P.C. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP where his practice focused on a broad range of commercial litigation matters including those affecting the health industry.
During the past two decades, Allen has developed a litigation practice that includes libel, slander and other First Amendment issues; employment discrimination; restrictive covenants; trade secret violations; fraud; breach of fiduciary duty; breach of contract; intentional interference with contract; negligent supervision; privacy issues; intentional infliction of emotional distress; commercial real estate litigation; other business-, commercial- and employment-related claims; and matters affecting the health industry. Allen has extensive experience before various state and federal trial and appellate courts. |
