Allen Kirkley joined Shell in 1980 in the Technical Fuels group at Norco, Louisiana and became process manager, distilling in 1984. In 1986 he transferred to Shell�s Houston office to run the planning group for US Base Chemicals. In Houston, he held various assignments, including Upstream Business Manager for Resins, and Manager, Planning & Economics, responsible for both Oil and Chemicals Products.
Allen returned to Norco in 1992 as Operations Superintendent, including the Chemicals operating assets. In April 1996, the Shell Norco Refining Company was created and Allen became its first president and CEO. Allen remained at Norco when Motiva was formed in 1998, as Refinery Manager.
In February 2002, Allen transferred to Houston in the capacity of Vice President - Lubricants. With the subsequent announcement of Shell�s intent to purchase the Pennzoil-Quaker State Company, Allen assumed a leadership role on the integration/transition planning team for this acquisition. Post closing, Allen became Vice President - Supply Chain, Shell Lubricants US.
In January 2004, Allen moved to London as Vice President - Contracting and Procurement for Shell International Oil Products before taking up his current position as Vice President Strategy & Portfolio on 1 May, 2006.
Allen has a BS in chemical engineering from the University of Virginia. He is married and has three children. |
