Favorite Childhood Trip: When I was 14 a friend and I won a beach volleyball tournament that qualified us for an all expenses paid trip to Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex to compete in the first AVP Juniors National Championship alongside the AVP pros. Going into the qualifier, it was one of those "lets just have fun and see what happens" type of things and next thing we knew we were meeting Karch Kiraly, Adam Johnson and Kent Steffes - all these pros who I looked up to - and playing against some of the best young beach players in the country. We played well enough for coming from the northeast where beach ball isn't exactly a year round sport. It really was an unexpected experience of a lifetime.
Other Great Trips: My senior year of college I studied abroad in Egypt for two weeks with about 15 other students and a handful of professors. I'd never been outside the country before and it was such a culture shock. Our main professor had lived there for 15 years and knew Cairo inside out so we didn't go the typical tourist route which made the experience that much richer. We rode camels out to Great Pyramids, visited beautiful mosques, traveled to Alexandria, met with local diplomats and learned a lot about the culture and history. It was one of those trips that really open your eyes and I feel so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to go.
Favorite eBags Feature: The customer testimonials are huge! Not only are they unbiased, they are tremendously helpful when it comes to making a decision. |
