Amit K. Roy-Chowdhury, PhD, is an acknowledged authority in the area of Computer Vision. His work for Euclid Discoveries is focused on integrating the effects of motion, illumination and pose in image formation, and developing models for human activity recognition under changing environmental conditions. Currently an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department of University of California, Riverside, Dr. Roy-Chowdhury's research includes computer vision, video analysis, image processing, pattern recognition and statistical signal processing. Dr. Roy- Chowdhury's work has appeared in several publications, including the International Journal of Computer Vision, Computer Vision and Image Understanding, IEEE Trans. on Image Processing, IEEE Trans. on Pattern Analysis and Intelligence and the Encyclopedia of Statistical Sciences. He is the author of a monograph titled "Recognition of Humans and Their Activities Using Video". Dr. Roy-Chowdhury graduated from Jadaupur University with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, and he graduated from the Indian Institute of Science with a Masters degree in Engineering. Dr. Roy-Chowdhury went on to the University of Maryland, College Park, graduating with a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. |
