Andrea Sironi is Professor of Financial Markets and Institutions at Bocconi University, where he also holds the position of Dean for International Affairs. He has previously been Director of Graduate Studies and Director of the Master in Risk Management (MARISK) at the same university.
Professor Sironi has held visiting positions at the Research and Statistics Department of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, and at the Salomon Brothers Center (Stern School of Business, NYU). He has been Director of the Working Group on Bank Risks at the Italian Deposit Insurance Fund and is an honorary member of the Italian Financial Risk Management Association (AIFIRM). He has previously been a financial analyst at The Chase Manhattan Bank in London.
Professor Sironi research interests include Financial Risk Management & Financial Derivatives, Bank Financial Management & Capital Allocation, and International Banking Supervision & Capital Regulation. He has published and edited many books on these subjects. His research work has been published in international journals such as the Journal of Banking and Finance, the Journal of Business, the Journal of Financial Services Research, the Journal of Money Credit and Banking, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, the Journal of Finance Literature, the Review of Financial Economics and the European Journal of Finance.
Professor Sironi has been a Consultant and independent expert for major Italian and international financial institutions and regulatory authorities.
Professor Sironi holds a degree in Economics from Bocconi University. He lives in Milan, is married and has three kids. |
