Andy Romay is an associate in the Houston office of Mayer Brown, where he is a member of the real estate group. Mr. Romay�s experience in real estate includes the representation of a broad range of clients in connection with the acquisition and sale of real property. In addition, Mr. Romay also represents a number of institutional landlords in office leasing transactions throughout the United States, including, in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Houston, Dallas, and Orlando.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Mr. Romay was a litigation associate at a prominent law firm in Los Angeles. As a litigation associate, Mr. Romay focused on bankruptcy and entertainment litigation. Some of Mr. Romay�s litigation matters arose from real estate transactions that had devolved into litigation. For example, he represented the creditors of eToys in a multi-million dollar fraudulent conveyance and breach of contract action arising out of a lease agreement. He also represented the owners of two hotels in Honolulu, Hawaii after the lender commenced a foreclosure proceeding against the owners in Hawaii State Court.
