Key Accountabilities: Andy Inglis is Executive Vice President & Deputy Chief Executive of the Exploration & Production Segment of Upstream, BP p.l.c., where he is responsible for the growth areas portfolio (which includes Azerbaijan, Angola, Algeria, Gulf of Mexico Deepwater, Trinidad, and the Asia-Pacific region).
Education: Mr. Inglis received an MA in Engineering from Pembroke College, Cambridge University.
Career: Mr. Inglis, who joined BP Engineering in 1980, is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer. He began his career as a mechanical engineer working on various North Sea Projects. In the late 1980s, he moved to a series of commercial roles in BP Exploration in Aberdeen and London. After spending some time in the Upstream Executive office, he moved to Alaska in 1994 to serve as the Manager for the Kuparuk Field. He returned to London in 1996 to take on the role of Chief of Staff, Upstream. Mr. Inglis was responsible for leading BP's activities in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico from 1997 until 1999.
In January 1999, following the merger of BP and Amoco, Mr. Inglis was appointed Vice President, U.S. Western Gas Business Unit. In September 2000, he joined the Upstream Executive Committee as a Group Vice President.
