Andrew J. Jacobson, is a managing director of MCG Capital Corporation (Nasdaq: MCGC), a one-stop capital firm. Andy joined MCG in 1999 after a successful 20-year career in the information industry and leads investments in information services, publishing, business services, business process outsourcing, manufacturing, software, and other industries.
He came to MCG from Post-Newsweek Business Information, where he served as President. He founded Post-Newsweek, a subsidiary of The Washington Post Co., by bringing together numerous acquisitions including TechNews, Inc., Washington Technology newspaper, Newsbytes News Network, Government Computer News, and the FOSE trade show and launching TechCapital magazine.
Prior to that, Mr. Jacobson was President of TRI, a diversified information publisher based in Washington, DC, and Associate Publisher at Capitol Publications, then a subsidiary of U.K. publishing firm Pearson. At the age of 23, he started up his own publishing firm, which he later sold to Capitol Publications. He has an B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University. |
