Andrew R. Newell provides advice to clients regarding business transactions, business formation issues and complex regulatory matters. His practice emphasizes the representation of companies in the telecommunications and technology industries, as well as other start-up ventures. Mr. Newell has worked with companies on private equity and debt financing, has provided counsel on issues related to initial public offerings and has provided advice on the formation of complex entity structures. He has also acted as counsel for leading telecommunications companies in contested regulatory proceedings under the Telecommunications Act of 1996 throughout the western United States. Mr. Newells' telecommunication clients include leading competitive telephone companies (conventional, wireless and VoIP), broadband internet providers, and cable and satellite providers. Mr. Newell also provides counsel to clients in a variety of other fields of business, including transportation, international manufacturing, and recycling/waste management. Mr. Newell is admitted to practice in Colorado and the United States District Court, District of Colorado. He is the author of "Telecommunications in Rural Colorado: Toward a More Competitive Model," which appeared in the November 2003 issue of The Colorado Lawyer. He lectures frequently on telecommunications and technology policy issues. He is treasurer of the Communication Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association and mentors students in the Silicon Flatirons Telecommunications Program of the University of Colorado. Mr. Newell was awarded his Juris Doctor by the University of Colorado School of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts Degree by the University of California at Los Angeles. |
