Mr. Ainsworth's expertise and management experience is derived from a diverse range of industries and projects.
Prior to entering his current profession, Mr. Ainsworth was a merchant marine officer serving on ships trading internationally. Vessel types on which he served included general cargo ships, container ships, bulk carriers, and a salvage tug. His duty titles included that of Principal Navigation Officer, Safety Officer, Cargo & Planning Officer, and Medical Officer. He spent a total of six years in the merchant marine, during which time he progressed to the rank of Second Officer.
Within the construction industry, Mr. Ainsworth has comprehensive experience in cost engineering incorporating cost management; value engineering; project management, and contract dispute claims analyses. He has been involved in a broad range of domestic and international project types, including process and power plants, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings.
Mr. Ainsworth, who originally hails from England, lived in South Africa preceding his emigration to the United States in 1994. Shortly after his arrival in the U.S., Mr. Ainsworth was employed by a construction project management consultant and held several positions within that company prior to being elected as a Vice President in 2000. He provided expertise in project, cost, and value engineering management that incorporated undertaking audits, contract administration and negotiation, feasibility analyses, estimating, bidding, and solicitation advice.
In 2002, Mr. Ainsworth joined an engineering consultant firm in Seattle specializing in dispute resolution service. Projects he worked on included analyses of schedule delay and cost engineering activities and incorporated quantification of direct and consequential cost impacts; analysis of: project management processes; project controls; change orders; productivity and other pertinent issues, respectively. Project examples included power and process plants; pipelines; commercial buildings and other special structures. Specific project analysis formed the basis of litigation support and included the preparation of expert witness reports, mediation presentations and briefs, as well as participation in claims negotiations, mediation, and settlement discussions.
Mr. Ainsworth has also worked as a Claims Consultant, involved in all facets services including builder�s risk construction disputes, construction defect and liability claims, property loss estimating, as well as construction project monitoring. |
