Experience:
Andrew Briggs is a partner in the Litigation group of the firm's London office. He heads the product liability practice and has particular experience in defending large scale Group litigation. He has advised clients in product liability matters that encompass a broad range of industries and applications, including cases that involve pharmaceuticals, medical devices, organo-phosphate compounds, herbicides, coating, food and motor vehicles. He also regularly advises businesses on recall investigations and guarantee claims.
In more general commercial litigation, Andrew's experience encompasses the prosecution and defence of large-scale breach of warranty claims. These claims are frequently multi-jurisdictional, and can involve allegations of fraud and misrepresentation arising from contracts or torts. His experience encompasses high profile litigation involving ancillary governmental and DTI enquiries, where co-operation with the investigating bodies is essential to protect client interests. He also is also experienced in anti-suit injunctions, and advises on risk management to help clients reduce the cost of litigation.
Andrew joined the firm in 1990 and became a partner in 1999. He is listed as a noted individual by Chambers & Partners, and The Legal 500 (2004) described him as "highly rated for 'quality of service and efficiency.

Baynham v Philips & Others: Defended a Group action brought by 150 pensioners of a multi-national electronic company regarding entitlement to private health care in retirement.
