How I Got Started in the Music Business Did the 'Forte' metal show at WIDR in Kalamazoo, MI during my early college years and also was asst. mgr. at a local record store for a few years and during my time at both I built up relationships with those in the industry (labels, marketing companies, etc, etc.). When I Started at Century Media November 1, 2005 What I Was Doing Prior to Working at Century Media Worked at Relapse Records for over 7 years in their sales&marketing department. Non-Musical Interests My fianc Shawn, nature, travel, animals, our cats, art, museums, movies (especially a good horror flick), tattoos and simply getting away from it all from time to time. Pets Four cats (Lucy, Ziggy, Zoe and Marblehead), Tim the Turtle and numerous fish. The First Thing I Do After Work Everyday Give my fianc a big hug and kiss and then go about watering our yard/plants. Then some much needed r&r. Dream Date Already living and spending my life with her! Things I Hate The Most in the World Let's see... where to start.... traffic, cruelty to animals, polution, American beer (all of it - piss!), infomercials, talk shows, reality TV, the fact that hardcore has become a fashion statement more than anything, bright light, bad service at restaurants, large groups of people (human cattle), racists, billboards obscuring the beauty of nature along the nation's highways, stupid people (most of the human race), promo mailings, smog, authority, running out of your favorite cereal, terrorism, and a whole slew of other stuff that's just not coming to me right now. Favorite Quote Everyone should carefully observe which way his heart draws him, and then choose that way with all his strength. and of course the classic "It's OK for what it is".... gotta love that one! Most Surreal Rock N' Roll Moment Watching Black Sabbath with Ozzy a few years back from the side of the stage directly behind Tony Iommi with a couple of the guys from Neurosis... MIND BLOWING!!!! Meeting so many of the artists that I've looked up to over the years has been extremely special as well (Rob Halford, Ozzy, Cronos, many of the bands I've worked with past and present....) Bands Who Will Soon Rule the Planet Simian, Candiria, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Pete Yorn, Ben Harper, Dillinger Escape Plan Personal Rantings Follow your heart... it will never let you down. Travel... explore your Earth. Get enough sleep. Eat lots of cereal. Drink only quality lemonade. Listen to only the most excellent tunes while driving. Visit Amsterdam at least once in your life. Take the time to notice the little things. Rock out nice 'n loud at least once a day. Remember to tell those closest to your heart that you love them on a regular basis... you will regret it one day if you don't. |
