Andy Kantor brings a wealth of experience and relationships to Brennan, Manna & Diamond. Andy joined the firm after practicing law in the Jacksonville area for over sixteen years as a prosecutor and city attorney. Andy has been responsible for a vast array of complex legal matters during his career.
As an Assistant State Attorney, he was the lead prosecutor in the Public Interest Section addressing white-collar crime matters. The complex prosecutions included racketeering, embezzlement, intellectual property and various insurance, workers' compensation and Medicaid fraud cases. In that position, Andy worked with businesses and others in the community concerning fraud in the marketplace. In addition, Andy was on the State Attorneys Office Homicide Team and was responsible for the prosecution of violent crimes. After his tenure as an Assistant State Attorney, he was an Assistant General Counsel for the City of Jacksonville assigned to the Tort Litigation Division.
With the General Counsels Office, Andy was responsible for defending the City regarding personal injury and property damage claims, including wrongful death and malpractice matters. His experiences included litigating workers compensation claims. Additionally, he had responsibility for labor and employment matters.
Andy also was employed by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners' self insured insurance fund, where he was responsible for drafting and reviewing contracts and procedures as well as supervision of the underwriting department of the funds.
