Andrew Onderdonk is the Director of Clinical Microbiology at the Brigham & Women�s Hospital in Boston, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Microbiology. He is also a Professor of Pathology at the Harvard Medical School. His research in the Channing Laboratory encompasses several areas related to human microbial flora and its role in health and disease. These areas include the pathogenesis of anaerobic microorganisms; the in-vivo and in-vitro efficacy of antimicrobials; normal microflora as it relates to the establishment and maintenance of a healthy ecosystem; and immunomodulators that may be used in the prevention and treatment of serious bacterial sepsis. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri at Columbia. |
