With more than 17 years of experience with local and state government agencies, Angela brings a wealth of experience to Strategies 360. Her broad range of skills, sharp political instinct, and history as a specialist in government relations, community affairs and civil engineering make her an important member of the public policy team. Angela began her Civil Engineering career at the City of Olympia in 1991, and later worked for the City of Puyallup in 1996. In 2000, she joined the City of Auburn's Public Works Transportation Department and worked under the direction of the Mayor to help create a Citywide Grant Team, advocating for transportation funding and freight-related issues and for community needs such as emergency services and recreational programs. Angela's switch to Governmental Affairs Manager for Investco Financial Corporation in 2005 allowed her to continue her public advocacy, focusing on the developments of Master Planned Communities and large commercial and industrial developments throughout the Puget Sound region. She continues to advocate for transportation funding and freight-related issues through her work as the NAIOP South Sound Government Affairs Chair, and by continuing to serve on boards of directors for the Bonney Lake Chamber, the Puyallup/Sumner Chamber and the South Sound Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition. Among her Pierce County achievements, Angela built a coalition of support for Pierce County to approve a new Traffic Impact Fee program. She also helped advance a 25 year-old volunteer chamber in the Bonney Lake area by analyzing the structure of the chamber, building collaborative support, updating the by-laws and increasing dues in order to be able to hire an Executive Director. In serving as a board member since the inception of the South Sound Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition, Angela advocates for the region's businesses and maintains relationships with state lawmakers to fight for regional concerns and educate chamber members on priority issues. Angela and her husband - along with their two children and several friends - form the band 3 Drink Minimum, with Angela singing lead on songs ranging from Carrie Underwood to Def Leppard. Angela said she's not ready for "American Idol" any time soon, but the singing has helped her gain confidence and stamina for public speaking.
