Ann Rogers is Associate Professor of Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Previously she was on the faculty at the University of Michigan. She has long been interested in sleep disorders, especially Narcolepsy, and has done extensive work in the field of sleep. Dr. Rogers received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, her Master's from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her Ph.D. from Northwestern University (1986). She has been Board Certified in sleep medicine since 1988. Dr. Rogers is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the Sleep Research Society. She served as a director of the American Narcolepsy Association from 1985-1995. She serves as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Neuroscience Nursing and for the Journal Sleep. She has published a number of abstracts, articles, and book chapters; and has also made many presentations at various sleep conferences. Dr. Rogers was the Principal Investigator of the NIH-sponsored "A Nursing Study of Excessive Daytime Sleepiness in Narcolepsy" (1990-1995), and is currently the Principal Investigator in another NIH study, "Management of Excessive Daytime Sleepiness in Narcolepsy" (1997-2002). |
