Anthony S. Harrington is President and co-founder of Stonebridge International, LLC. He leads the firm's Latin America practice and investment industry practices. As former U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, Mr. Harrington worked closely with U.S. companies and leaders in Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America to strengthen business and economic ties. His service as U.S. Ambassador caps a distinguished private sector career as a corporate attorney and entrepreneur. Mr. Harrington was previously a senior partner of Hogan & Hartson and co-founded several telephony/technology firms, two of which were sold for over $1 billion, including Telecom*USA, the fourth largest U. S. long distance telephone company prior to its merger with MCI. As a holding company investor, he was also instrumental in the creation of Mindspring, Intercall and PowerTel, sold in 2000 for over $7 billion. In addition, Mr. Harrington is Chairman of Civitas Group, an affiliated security industry investment and consulting firm, and a trustee of the Kenan Institute for Private Enterprise. He also served as Chairman of the President's Intelligence Oversight Board, Vice Chairman of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and a member of the congressionally-created Commission on the Roles and Capabilities of the U. S. Intelligence Community. |
