April has over 25 years of records and information management experience both as a practitioner and consultant advising major corporations on strategic issues/initiatives establishing enterprise-wide programs and policies and implementing technology and process improvement solutions.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron April was Vice President Studio Relations & Information Management at Sony Pictures Entertainment. While there she oversaw a broad-scope of studio and company based responsibilities including Studio/City relations Digital Initiatives Electronic Document Management Imaging Systems Records Management Web Publishing and Film Archives. She also served on executive-level committees and external community/corporate boards.
Previously April was a National Product Manager for an international consulting firm. While there she directed consulting and outsourcing services for U.S. and Canadian-based operations for the records management solutions market. She was also responsible for client relations contract compliance account management and site operations.
Throughout her career April has established enterprise-wide Records & Information Management Programs for organizations in a variety of industries including aerospace electronics entertainment electronics financial services food service government legal and real estate which included:
Developing rolling-out and managing Records Retention Policies designed to protect the organization's assets and ensure business continuity and financial stability.
Implementing an Electronic Document Management System which supported over 2 500 users worldwide and was successfully integrated into a departmental workflows and major systems across the organization.
Establishing Imaging Services which provided a centralized source for scanning indexing and storing of hard-copy documents greatly reducing physical storage space and streamlining workflow.
Establishing a Metadata Standard and a web-based registry which provided for consistent practices in managing the organization's recorded assets.
Advising organizations on best practices in a variety of records and information management areas.
