Aric Jacover specializes primarily in the areas of trademark, copyright and unfair competition law. He regularly counsels clients on content protection, Internet/domain name issues and helps clients in the entertainment industry protect and enforce their intellectual property assets. Trademark prosecution and monitoring: U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution, advising clients regarding trademark availability, procurement and protection, including trade dress and color trademarks, advising clients regarding trademark watch services, including Internet enforcement strategies. Trademark litigation: experience in trademark litigation in Federal Courts and before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Copyright counseling and litigation: advising clients on copyright protection, registration and enforcement; litigating copyright matters in Federal Courts. Internet: litigating rights to domain names under the federal anti-cybersquatting act and Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy; negotiating the purchase of domain names. Trade secrets litigation: advising clients regarding the protection of trade secret material; protecting trade secrets through litigation. Advertising: evaluating advertisements for potential liability for false or misleading representations. Licensing: experience drafting/reviewing licensing agreements relating to trademark, copyright and computer software, including trademark and copyright assignments/licenses, consent agreements, work for hire agreements, entertainment contracts, domain name assignments and asset purchases. Corporate: experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions involving intellectual property assets. Finance: experience in IP securitizations.
