Armand P. Neukermans Ph.D. is an entrepreneur and an independent consultant with over 40 years of work experience in the field of electrical and mechanical engineering and applied physics.
Since 1964 Dr. Neukermans has held numerous management and senior executive management positions within the research organizations such as KLA-Tencor Hewlett-Packard Xerox and General Electric and was a consultant to Alza where he conceived a series of novel micomachined drug patches. More recently he served as Chairman and Chief Technical officer for Xros a company which he founded and which was acquired by Nortel Networks for $3.25 billion in March 2000.
Dr. Neukermans is a visiting professor at Louvain University in the field of entrepreneurship. He serves on the board of Metara a semiconductor equipment company Clearing Storm an NGO and is an active advisor and serves as a board member of several public and private companies and VC funds.
Dr. Neukermans holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University an M.S.E.E. from Arizona State University and an Engineer's Degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from Louvain University. Dr. Neukermans has over 35 publications. He is the inventor or co-inventor of over 58 patents in various fields ranging from electron guns and magnetic recording to drug delivery. In 2001 he was named Silicon Valley Inventor of the year in 2001. |
