Armando J. Garc�a Segovia has been a member of our board of directors since 1983. He also serves as a member of the board of directors of Materiales Industriales de Chihuahua, S.A. de C.V., Calhidra y Mortero de Chihuahua, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua, S.A. de C.V., Construcentro de Chihuahua, S.A. de C.V., Control Administrativo Mexicano, S.A. de C.V., Compa��a Industrial de Parras, S.A. de C.V., F�brica La Estrella, S.A. de C.V., Prendas Textiles, S.A. de C.V., Telas de Parras, S.A. de C.V., Canacem, Confederaci�n Patronal de la Rep�blica Mexicana, Centro Patronal de Nuevo Le�n, and Instituto Mexicano del Cemento y del Concreto. He is a member of the board and former chairman of Centro de Estudios del Sector Privado para el Desarrollo Sostenible and a member of the board of the World Environmental Center. He is also founder and chairman of the board of Comenzar de Nuevo, A.C.
Mr. Garc�a, who originally joined CEMEX in 1975 and rejoined the company in 1985, holds a degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from Tecnol�gico de Monterrey and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas. He is responsible for managing CEMEX's operations technology, human resources, energy, and information technology.
