Armando is responsible for engineering Sabeus' rugged downhole fiber optic sensors for oilfield applications and the company's line of non-microphonic lasers. Armando joined Sabeus in March 2005 via the acquisition of Aragon Technologies, a developer of narrow line width lasers for commercial and military applications. Before founding Aragon in 2002, Armando led product development at Alcatel, NAVSYS, and Hughes where he was instrumental to the completion of the GPS technology that became General Motors' OnStar system, as well as the first high-speed family of modems for AT&T, and the communication subsystems for Hughes' DirecTV, and the Thuraya, IKOS and Inmarsat communication satellites. Armando holds a MSEE and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. |
