Young, enthusiastic, and fresh out of college, Aron Ain moved to the Boston area in 1979, seeking work experience in a dynamic urban environment. His energy and passion served him well as he grew through the ranks of Kronos, at the time known as a technology start-up. Ain quickly realized that he already found his place helping to grow the company with his brother, Mark Ain, who founded Kronos in 1977.
Ain has played a role in nearly every functional department at Kronos helping build what today is a half billion dollar plus company. He was Kronos' first service person in 1979, and first sales person in 1980. Over the years, he directly led the establishment of the company's field organization, and drove the effort to sell Kronos products directly to customers in the 1980s. He served as vice president of worldwide sales and service in the 1990s, and became chief operating officer in 2002, responsible for driving operational excellence across all of Kronos' business operations.
His interactive and engaging leadership style is credited with creating an energized corporate culture at Kronos. Ain believes that employee retention inevitably leads to loyal and satisfied customers. According to Ain, "Employees that feel valued stay longer and develop a deeper understanding of and stronger relationships with customers. It is their experience and knowledge that allows Kronos to deliver the best products and customer service." Ain takes pride in a recent survey where an overwhelming number of employees identified Kronos as "the best place they have ever worked". He appreciates how this has helped Kronos achieve a nearly unprecedented customer satisfaction statistic: 98 percent of customers believe Kronos meets or exceeds their expectations. Ain's focus on customer service excellence never waivers and is a key reason that Kronos' customer-centric orientation is a core value intricately woven into the fabric that is Kronos.
In October 2005, 26 years after joining Kronos, Ain was named chief executive officer and a member of Kronos' board of directors; in charge of Kronos' total business operations. Ain's charter is to drive Kronos' strategy of becoming the first billion dollar software company exclusively focused on meeting the human capital management needs of organizations on a worldwide basis.
Ain's core values include honesty, fairness, and serving each other and customers, and making the world a better place. His service to others at Kronos extends to his personal life, where he actively participates to improve his community through his leadership roles in many community-based organizations.
In addition to a bachelor's degree in economics and government from Hamilton College, Ain has participated in a series of executive education programs, including the AEA/Stanford Executive Institute at Stanford University. |
