Arshad Mansoor is Vice President of the Power Delivery & Markets at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). With responsibility for more than 110 technical staff, he leads the research, development, demonstration, and application of transmission and distribution (T&D), and energy utilization technologies for existing and future T&D assets. Mansoor joined EPRI in his current position in July 2006. Prior to joining EPRI, he was Vice President of the former wholly-owned EPRI subsidiary EPRI Solutions and EPRI's Power Electronics Application Center Power Delivery business unit, leading the development of a high performance, customer-focused organization in the power delivery area. Mansoor has a strong engineering background in overall power system engineering with specific emphasis on power system modeling and analysis, power distribution system reliability and quality evaluation, industrial and commercial power quality analysis, power electronics technology application, energy efficiency, distributed resource application, and assessment of service quality performance metrics for electric utilities. Mansoor received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology and Master of Science (1992) and doctorate (1994) in electrical engineering from the University of Texas in Austin. He holds two U.S. patents in the area of intelligent universal transformers. Mansoor is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, has published numerous papers in journals and conference proceedings, and has served as a panelist in various industry forums. |
