Arthur B. Keppel focuses his practice on defending medical, nursing and pharmaceutical professional liability matters, as well as casualty and premises liability actions in the state and federal courts of Pennsylvania, as well as appellate arguments in the courts of review of the same jurisdictions. He is a member of the Pennsylvania bar, as well as the bar of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He received his juris doctorate from the Delaware Law School, now the Widener University School of Law, where he served as a note and comment editor on the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and was the recipient of the 1985-1986 Best Student Article Award. During that time he also was selected for the Washington Honors Program and did a semester of study in Washington, D.C., including a legal internship with the Veterans Administration. He graduated in 1986, and went on to serve as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Francis X. Caizza of the Lawrence County Court of Common Pleas, as an appellate law clerk for the Honorable Vincent A. Cirillo, then as an administrative assistant to Judge Cirillo, who was at the time the President Judge of the Superior Court. Before pursuing a legal career, Art obtained a BS degree in mathematics from Dickinson College, after which he was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Army and served as a field medical platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division. Thereafter he joined the United States Peace Corps and served as a math teacher in Kota Bharu, Malasia. Upon returning to the United States, he obtained a BS Nursing degree from the College of Nursing at the University of Delaware (Delaware RN license (inactive)), and during law school did a legal internship with the American Nursing Association in Washington, D.C. Each of these varied experiences have contributed in a positive way to Art�s success as a trial and appellate advocate. |
