A lawyer at Foley Hoag since 1974 and a partner for more than 25 years, Arthur Telegen is chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Department. In 2001, Arthur was elected a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. His work has been recognized by Chambers USA.
Arthur has represented national and international employers across the spectrum of industries in labor and employment matters. He handles labor issues in arbitration and before the NLRB and the federal courts, and tries cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, ERISA fiduciary and Multi-Employer Pension Plan Act claims.
A significant part of Arthur's practice involves counseling clients regarding the labor and employment issues involved in major transactions.

Advised a national retailer faced with a union's multiple legal challenges and corporate campaign
Litigated an ERISA claim for a regional utility alleging eight-figure fiduciary duty violations
Represented an international brewer in matters before the NLRB and the federal courts during a four year contract negotiation/dispute
Represented a national power generator in its acquisition and its subsequent disposition of several unionized power plants in the Northeast
Represented a national media firm in union matters subsequent to spin-off from a telecommunications company
Represented a multi-national telecommunications company in labor issues arising from a multi-billion dollar merger of two unionized employers
