Prior to co-founding IndexIQ, Arun was head of index operations & development for Fortune Indexes, where he supervised all daily calculation, index methodology and corporate actions along with managing relationships with third-party vendors, such as Reuters and the American Stock Exchange. He also served as manager of the New Business Ventures Group at Time Inc., focused on new product development for Fortune, Money, Business 2.0, and Fortune Small Business magazines. In that role he managed the financial data products and research business lines, including re-launching several list products, the e-commerce platform, and specializing in online website statistics. Prior to his tenure at Time Inc., Arun was senior financial statistician at Dow Jones Indexes where he was on the quarterly review team responsible for rebalancing Dow Jones and third-party indexes, and was the lead member of the group responsible for research and management of free-float data for over 8,000 companies, which was central to the merger with Wilshire Total Market Index family in 2004. In addition to those responsibilities, Arun also was integral in operations and maintenance of the Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Indexes, which included creating processes to ensure data quality and accurate commodity pricing for index calculation. Arun holds a B.A. in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University and is currently in pursuit of his MBA from Fordham University with dual concentrations in Finance and Media Management. |
