ATOSSA primarily focuses on intellectual property, particularly patent litigation, preparation and prosecution. She also counsels clients on other related patent matters, including validity and infringement, and licensing and transactional matters. Atossa is experienced in intellectual property litigation involving patent infringement, antitrust and breach of contract suits. Her patent prosecution experience includes mechanical, chemical, medical device and biotechnology patents. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Atossa was a dentist and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In addition to working as a general dental practitioner, specialist endodontist in private practice, and oral surgery resident, she had a full-time faculty appointment teaching graduate level endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute at the University of London. Atossa has conducted basic science research on pain receptors at the Autonomic Neuroscience Institute in London and at Case Western Reserve University. She is published in the Case Western Reserve Law Review, the Case Western Health Matrix, the International Endodontic Journal, NeuroReport and the Journal of Dental Research. Atossa is a member of the Cleveland and Ohio Bar Associations and the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association. She is also a member of the International Association for Dental Research and the European Society of Endodontology. Atossa previously practiced law at Jones Day and joined Calfee in 2006. |
