B.J. (Bert) van der Wijk has been active in the profession of executive search since 1987; amongst others he worked as a senior consultant with Ward Howell/Maes Lunau in Amsterdam. In 1992 he founded BJW Executive Search/BIS Consult.

From 1983 to 1987 he occupied senior business management marketing positions in the automotive industry.

From 1980 until 1983, Mr. van der Wijk worked as a senior executive at the International Banking division of the Dutch based AMRO Bank N.V. In this role, he was also responsible for the London desk of the Bank, a liaison office linking the London branch office activities with the domestic branches network.

Mr. van der Wijk started his career as a secretary to the executive board of a leading Dutch editor (Elsevier NDU N.V.). He holds a Dutch master degree of law, in 1978 he graduated from the University of Groningen.
