Prior to his current projects, Barry was head of North American Architecture for UBS Warburg, a post he took over in 2000 when UBS acquired PaineWebber. In July 2002 Mr. Thompson left the banking world to incubate startup projects. Previously, Mr. Thompson overhauled New York- and London-based systems for NatWest Global Financial Markets, designed trading systems for AIG Trading Group. A self-taught technologist, Mr. Thompson has developed software for clients who include MCI Telecommunications, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and other government agencies. Mr. Thompson is a 2001 graduate of the International Space University. He also studied physics and economics at The George Washington University.
