Barry Ogilby is a partner in Cooper, White & Cooper's Environmental, Energy, Green, Employment Law and Litigation practice groups. He has been involved with environmental law compliance, land use, employment law, energy law and related litigation for more than 30 years. He specializes in representing clients before federal, state and local agencies concerning compliance issues and development projects. He also often represents clients in federal and state court litigation and arbitrations, and advises clients regarding pending legislative proposals. Barry worked as in-house counsel for Exxon Corporation for fifteen years, and served as Assistant General Counsel for the Marine Spill Response Corporation before entering private practice. As such, he provided environmental-land use, employment law and commercial litigation support to Exxon's refining, marketing, oil/product transportation, and oil and gas production operations. With the Marine Spill Response Corporation, he worked on a wide range of matters pertaining to the formation and operations of the nation's largest oil spill response organization. Since entering private practice, he has represented clients regarding such matters as permitting major electrical power generation facilities, establishing emergency response/crisis management programs, employment law compliance, oil spills, natural resource damage assessments, and virtually all aspects of federal, state and local environmental law compliance, including greenhouse gas emission issues. |
